Lake Butler Hospital is focused on delivering premier-quality healthcare with a compassionate and inviting atmosphere, ensuring that every patient feels welcomed and supported throughout their healthcare journey. With a family-oriented work culture, the hospital values team members who are dedicated not just to clinical excellence but also to fostering empathy and positivity in patient interactions.
The Patient Access Coordinator position at Lake Butler Hospital is a rewarding role designed for someone interested in playing a crucial part in the hospital's front-line operations. This position is primarily responsible for managing patient registration across multiple service areas including the emergency room, outpatient services such as rehabilitation, laboratory, radiology, and inpatient admissions. The coordinator acts as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, welcoming them into the hospital and navigating them through necessary registration procedures efficiently. This role requires handling various business office and administrative functions encompassing insurance verifications, financial arrangements, and data entry related to patient records and billing processes. In addition, the position involves meticulous auditing of registrations, collection efforts including patient and insurance communications, and providing support for billing and medical record requests as necessary.
This multifaceted position demands a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with attention to detail, capable of managing sensitive information responsibly while maintaining a pleasant demeanor under potentially stressful situations. Competency with essential office equipment such as computers, fax machines, and telephone systems is expected, along with proficiency in typing and using calculator tools. The Patient Access Coordinator not only ensures that the patient intake process contributes to a seamless and welcoming experience but also helps sustain the hospital's revenue management operations by supporting the various administrative and financial tasks involved.
