This particular opportunity is for an onsite Receptionist position at the UCHealth UCHlth Emergency GreenValley Ranch location in Denver, Colorado. This PRN (pro re nata, or as needed) role offers flexibility with a shift schedule that varies as needed. Compensation ranges from $19.67 to $25.57 per hour based on the applicant's relevant experience. The receptionist role is critical in providing the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Responsibilities include greeting patients and caregivers, explaining visit details and instructions, answering questions, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining required pre-certifications or authorizations, and processing payments such as co-pays and deductibles. This role also involves escorting and transporting patients and visitors within the facility, which may include assistance with wheelchairs or oxygen tanks.

Accuracy and timeliness are essential in recording patient demographic, billing, and clinical information into the registration system. The receptionist position requires strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work onsite at the Denver location
  • Availability to work PRN schedule with flexible shifts
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially
  • Capacity to assist with patient escort and transport within the facility
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate computer registration systems accurately
  • Experience working in a healthcare or customer service environment is preferred

Job Duties

  • Meets with patient and/or patient caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
  • Provides explanation of visit instructions and addresses concerns and questions
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification or authorization as necessary
  • Escorts and transports patients and visitors within facility, including assistance with wheelchairs or oxygen tanks
  • Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
  • Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and accurately entered in registration system
  • Uses critical thinking and judgment to take appropriate action in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
