Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- willingness to live and work onboard a ship
- ability to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour work week with limited breaks
- compliance with Disney Cruise Line appearance standards
- willingness to share cabin with other crew
- flexibility in schedule, responsibilities, and locations
- commitment to a minimum of 2-3 contracts
- hold valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa
- complete pre-employment medical exam
- obtain criminal background check
- bring approved work shoes
- commitment to drug-free environment including passing drug/alcohol testing
- willingness to perform safety duties and follow public health regulations
- ability to adapt to a structured lifestyle personally and professionally
- comfortable sharing cabin and working in a multicultural setting
Job Qualifications
- Minimum five years recent experience as Pastry Chef or Pastry Chef de Partie
- certification as Pastry Chef or comparable Culinary Arts degree
- strong technical knowledge of food and beverage operations on a ship
- proven history of producing high-quality products
- fluent in spoken and written English
- ability to work in a busy, guest-focused environment
- appreciation for diversity among guests and crew members
Job Duties
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop and enhance menus
- craft desserts, cakes, and pastries
- assist in buffet setup
- guide team members in pastry preparation
- ensure opening and closing kitchen protocols
- lead allergy awareness and dietary training for Pastry staff
- supervise preparation of special dietary meals and manage food allergies
- delegate tasks and monitor kitchen operations
- ensure safety and quality, taking corrective action when necessary
- uphold sanitation standards
- ensure menu presentation standards
- create showpieces, ice creams, and sorbets
- perform Castaway Cay duties as directed
- handle additional responsibilities assigned by leadership
- follow company policies and maritime regulations
- participate in emergency duties
