Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to quality, exceptional guest experiences, and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Among its distinguished portfolio of brands is the Autograph Collection, a group of independent 4 and 5-star hotels, each uniquely chosen for their originality, bold character, and ability to offer travelers distinct and memorable experiences. The Autograph Collection aims to attract the Individualist traveler — someone who values travel as a way to enrich their personal story with unique adventures, whether for business or pleasure.
El Lido House, part of the prestigious Autograph Collection, is currently partnering with Rouxbe Culinary School to provide culinary associates with access to a comprehensive online training platform. This initiative supports career growth through hundreds of well-designed and visually engaging culinary lessons that associates can immediately apply on the job. This partnership reflects Marriott International's dedication to employee development and excellence.
The position offered is a part-time, non-management culinary role located at El Lido House in Newport Beach, California. The hourly wage for this role is $29.20. The role is ideal for individuals seeking to develop their culinary skills within a supportive environment that values quality, safety, and teamwork. This part-time position requires culinary associates to prepare and cook food according to recipes and established quality and presentation standards. Duties include preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing them safely, utilizing kitchen tools and equipment properly for food preparation, and adhering strictly to food safety procedures and hygiene standards.
Associates will also monitor food temperatures, maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by washing and sanitizing surfaces, and ensure quality control of dishes and portions throughout their shift. Effective communication, a professional appearance, and teamwork are emphasized, as is a commitment to company policies and safety standards. Physical tasks include handling objects up to 25 pounds independently and moving across various surfaces, sometimes requiring stretching, bending, or standing for extended periods.
Working at El Lido House offers an opportunity to join a reputable hotel brand within Marriott International, where diversity is celebrated, equal opportunity is a foundational principle, and collaboration is encouraged. The role offers not only practical kitchen experience but also the chance to grow professionally through ongoing training resources and a supportive team environment. Joining the Autograph Collection means being part of a world-class team committed to delivering unforgettable guest experiences and fostering the best version of yourself as a culinary professional.
