Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this position requires a combination of creativity, technical skill, and meticulous attention to detail. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing all pastry items according to company-approved recipes and standards, ensuring that every dessert served reflects the high-quality benchmarks set by the establishment. Beyond routine preparation, the role encourages innovation through the development of new and exciting pastry items that could become house specials or new menu features, continually elevating the restaurant’s dessert offerings.
This position also involves the critical tasks of maintaining stock levels and ensuring that all dessert components are prepared and available for seamless service. Emphasis is placed on adherence to health and safety regulations, including sanitary food handling and keeping the kitchen environment clean and organized. The Pastry Chef will also collaborate with fellow team members to maintain operational efficiency on the line. A key to success in this role is the ability to thoroughly understand and implement recipes and other documentation to maintain consistency and quality.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- At least a year of training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience
- Food preparation knowledge
- Ability to operate various cooking equipment
- Ability to read and interpret recipes
- Capability to stand and walk for 6 to 8 hour shifts
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds
- Ability to work in varying levels of heat and noise
Job Qualifications
- At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience
- Food preparation knowledge and line work experience
- Ability to operate various cooking equipment
- Ability to read and interpret recipes
- High school diploma
Job Duties
- Prepare all pastry items in accordance to company approved recipes
- Develop new and innovative pastry items to be used as specials or potential new menu items
- Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service
- Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness
- Daily set up workstation and keep it neat and clean
- Assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line
- Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation
