In this role as a Pastry Chef at Sodexo, based at Lipscomb University, you play a critical role in delivering culinary excellence, specifically focused on pastry and dessert offerings. This is a part-time position with a pay range between $16 and $20 per hour. The role requires flexible availability due to varying shifts, ideally with open availability to accommodate the diverse scheduling needs. The position calls for a creative and dedicated individual who not only crafts delicious desserts but also actively contributes to food waste reduction. As a Pastry Chef, you will be instrumental in overseeing the preparation and production of a variety of baked goods, including breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other dessert items.

Your responsibility extends further than baking; managing the schedule of production to maintain a consistent inventory of fresh, quality baked goods is essential. Timeliness and reliability in attendance and shift adherence are crucial. Moreover, the position involves accommodating the dynamic needs of different accounts and client-specific requirements, which means your duties may vary to suit the operational demands of catering services, banquets, and specialty orders. Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Pastry Arts or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience with an emphasis on high production
  • reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Oversee creativity and prepare all desserts required for all food operations, banquets, specialty orders and to-go orders
  • prepare items from scratch such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other desserts
  • schedule production of all baked goods to maintain an inventory of fresh baked goods
  • attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • perform other duties as assigned according to business necessities and client requirements
