The role of Pastry Chef within The Jeff Ruby Experience is a key position responsible for delivering pastries and desserts that not only meet but exceed the high standards synonymous with the brand. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Pastry Chef's primary focus is to skillfully prepare a wide variety of pastries and desserts using company-approved recipes to ensure consistency and exceptional quality. This role is essential in maintaining the impeccable presentation of all dessert items, enhancing the overall dining experience for guests. The Pastry Chef is also expected to innovate by developing new and creative pastry items that can be featured as specials or integrated into the menu, demonstrating culinary creativity and an understanding of current dessert trends. Daily responsibilities include ensuring inventory is adequately stocked and ready for service, adhering to strict safety and health regulations in food handling and kitchen cleanliness, maintaining a neat and organized workstation, and collaborating efficiently with kitchen team members to optimize line operations. Physical demands of the role include the ability to stand and walk for extended shifts, lift and move supplies up to 60 pounds, and perform tasks in a work environment that experiences varying levels of heat and noise. Candidates for this position should have at least a year of formal training at a culinary institute or possess equivalent experience gained through previous restaurant work. A high school diploma is required.   • Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise

Job Qualifications

  • At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare all pastry items in accordance to company approved recipes
  • Develop new and innovative pastry items to be used as specials or potential new menu items
  • Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service
  • Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness
  • Daily set up workstation and keep it neat and clean
  • Assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line
  • Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation
