Job Description

The Pastry Chef will play a pivotal role in crafting and delivering a wide array of pastries, desserts, and baked goods that meet our exacting standards of quality and presentation. Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing menus that highlight innovative dessert concepts while adhering to established recipes and culinary guidelines. This role entails managing inventory and supply ordering to ensure the pastry station is fully stocked with top-quality ingredients, maintaining budgetary discipline, and minimizing waste. An essential part of the role involves training, mentoring, and supervising junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high performance and strict compliance with health and safety regulations. The Pastry Chef is expected to maintain an immaculate workspace, uphold sanitation standards, and implement food safety protocols diligently. Creativity is highly valued, and there is a strong emphasis on continuous research and development of new pastry recipes and techniques aimed at enhancing the guest experience. Communication and collaboration with front of house and other departments ensure seamless kitchen operations and excellent customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef, preferably in a high-end or luxury setting
  • culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry arts

Job Duties

  • Create and prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for guests, adhering to high-quality standards and following recipes and menu guidelines
  • collaborate with the Head Chef and other team members to plan and execute menus and special events
  • manage inventory and ordering of pastry supplies, ensuring all items are well-stocked and within budget
  • train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of performance and adherence to safety and hygiene standards
  • maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following proper sanitation and food handling procedures
  • continuously research and develop new and innovative pastry recipes and techniques to enhance the guest experience
  • communicate effectively with other departments, including the front of house team, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
  • adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
