Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Bakery Supervisor to oversee the preparation and production of all baked goods. This role is pivotal in maintaining the standards of baking quality and consistency while managing the team of bakers and coordinating production schedules. The Bakery Supervisor will be responsible for producing specialty baked goods for both in-house consumption and catered events, ensuring that every product meets the desired culinary specifications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in food cost analysis and recipe development, enabling them to optimize costs effectively while maintaining premium product quality.
In addition to production oversight, this role includes the responsibility for maintaining detailed food production records, managing department supplies and equipment, and ensuring that all facilities operate efficiently, healthily, and safely. The Bakery Supervisor will also coordinate the ordering and inventory management of supplies, conducting regular assessments to replenish stock as necessary. An essential component of this role involves offering training and guidance to bakers, senior bakers, and related staff to enhance skill sets and maintain operational standards.
Problem-solving on day-to-day equipment and food supply issues is a key aspect of the position. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in bakery production or supervision

Job Duties
- Supervise the preparation and production of all baked goods
- prepare specialty baked goods for in-house and catered events
- analyze food costs and determine most cost-effective recipes while maintaining quality
- maintain food production records, reports, and department files as required
- direct and/or arrange for maintenance and care of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials promoting efficiency, health, and safety
- record inventory of supplies and order stock from main storeroom
- estimate daily and weekly requirements and replenish items as appropriate
- provide training and guidance to bakers, senior bakers, and other employees
- attend to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies
- detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions
- prepare baked goods for special diets as required
- perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
