Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in bakery production or supervision
  • basic math skills for cost analysis
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • ability to maintain health and safety standards
  • capacity to train and lead a team
  • flexibility to handle varied shifts and duties

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bakery supervision or a similar role
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to analyze food costs and manage budgets
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping
  • excellent communication and training abilities
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • familiarity with preparing specialty baked goods

Job Duties

  • Supervise the preparation and production of all baked goods
  • prepare specialty baked goods for in-house and catered events
  • analyze food costs and determine most cost-effective recipes while maintaining quality
  • maintain food production records, reports, and department files as required
  • direct and/or arrange for maintenance and care of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials promoting efficiency, health, and safety
  • record inventory of supplies and order stock from main storeroom
  • estimate daily and weekly requirements and replenish items as appropriate
  • provide training and guidance to bakers, senior bakers, and other employees
  • attend to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies
  • detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions
  • prepare baked goods for special diets as required
  • perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
