As a vital part of the Kitchen Department, the Pastry Chef at North Oaks Golf Club reports directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. This is a full-time, hourly position offering a competitive wage of $24 per hour, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package. The Pastry Chef plays a critical role in managing and operating the pastry section of the kitchen, ensuring the creation of delectable baked goods and desserts that meet the club's high standards for quality, presentation, and taste. The role requires creativity, precision, and the ability to maintain an organized, professional work environment.
The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing a wide variety of baked goods, decorating and presenting them in an appealing manner, and managing the procurement of ingredients and supplies essential for the smooth operation of the pastry kitchen. Additionally, the Pastry Chef works closely with customers to accommodate custom dessert orders for special occasions, reflecting the club’s personalized service philosophy. Maintaining health and safety regulations within the bakery section is paramount, alongside developing new seasonal recipes and staying up to date with current culinary trends.
In addition to hands-on baking and decorating duties, this role involves supporting banquet line execution and maintaining cleanliness and organizational standards within the pastry program. The Pastry Chef is expected to uphold rigorous food safety, sanitation, and timeliness standards to ensure an exceptional dining experience for club members. A collaborative, positive attitude in working with coworkers and engaging with customers is essential to the role, as well as flexibility to perform other duties assigned by management based on the club’s evolving needs.

- Previous experience working as a pastry chef for 2 years
- Culinary school diploma (not crucial)
- Basic knowledge of various cooking methods ingredients equipment and procedures
- Familiar with industries best practices
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work clean and organized
- Ability to move and lift up to 25-50lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Job Duties
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen working together with the other chefs
- Prepare a variety of baked goods
- Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
- Monitor and order ingredients supplies and equipment
- Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
- Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
- Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends
