Job Description

Lynden Door, located in Lynden, Washington, is a prominent manufacturer specializing in the production of high-quality residential and commercial interior wood doors. As one of North America's leading companies in this sector, Lynden Door takes great pride in delivering superior products and exceptional service. This success is attributed to the dedicated efforts and talents of its remarkable team members. The company places strong emphasis on core values such as respect for all individuals, unwavering integrity in every situation, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of work. These values foster a supportive and inclusive work environment enriched by diverse backgrounds and career experiences from around the globe. This diversity not only strengthens the organization but also creates abundant opportunities for ongoing professional growth and career development for all employees.

We are currently seeking a part-time Welcome Center Team Member to join our small, close-knit team. This role is vital in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment at our worksite. The Welcome Center Team Member position involves direct interaction with hundreds of employees, contractors, and visitors every day, offering a warm reception and clear guidance. This role is more than just a typical front desk assignment; it is a key part of the company’s safety and security strategy. The person in this role is responsible for validating the business purpose of visitors, ensuring that only those with legitimate business reasons enter the premises, and supporting a secure work atmosphere.

The position operates on a part-time schedule from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Monday through Friday, including a mandatory 30-60 minute lunch break, amounting to roughly 25-27.5 hours per week. The schedule occasionally requires flexibility to accommodate lunch breaks and additional hours during team vacations or sick coverage. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys early morning work hours and values being part of a supportive team environment that prioritizes family and rest.

Responsibilities include welcoming all personnel arriving at the worksite, verifying employee and contractor credentials, managing site entry and access by opening and unlocking doors throughout the campus, providing directions, and maintaining detailed logs of all non-employee traffic. Confidentiality is paramount in this role, as it involves handling sensitive information related to employees, vendors, and company operations. The role also includes special projects and administrative tasks that support both the Welcome Center and the Recruiting team, making it a dynamic and engaging position.

Candidates who thrive in this role are physically capable and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and able to communicate clearly and effectively over environmental noise. Experience in leadership roles and a servant-hearted, customer-focused attitude are highly valued. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word, along with basic math skills and typing speed of at least 30 words per minute, are essential for managing administrative tasks effectively.

Compensation for this position ranges from $21.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Employees gain access to traditional and ROTH 401(k) plans, including eligibility for discretionary profit-sharing contributions after one year of service. Additional benefits include accrued sick leave at a rate of one hour per 40 hours worked, contributing to a supportive workplace environment.

Lynden Door is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering diversity and inclusion. Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen, including screening for marijuana. If you are enthusiastic about welcoming people, connecting them to the right resources, and contributing to a secure workplace, we invite you to join our team and grow with us.
