Thompson Houston is currently launching a new destination restaurant concept within the hotel, integrating a 3-meal dining venue that features an extensive 1-acre pool deck, luxury cabanas, private event spaces, and indoor-outdoor dining areas. This innovative dining experience offers guests spectacular views of downtown and a unique atmosphere blending elegance with comfort. The new restaurant is set to relaunch in the summer and aims to provide an extraordinary culinary and social experience for both hotel guests and residents within the Houston area.

The role of Restaurant Server at Thompson Houston will be a vital part of this new restaurant relaunch, offering an exciting career opportunity within the hospitality industry. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working as a restaurant server or in a similar customer service capacity
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Capable of lifting at least 20 pounds
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
Attention to detail in order accuracy and payment handling
Basic math proficiency for transaction processing
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

Uphold company policies including safety, sanitation, attendance, and dress code guidelines
Ensure perishable items are properly labeled, rotated, and discarded to maintain quality control
Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service to guests, anticipating their needs and responding to questions
Greet guests warmly, assist with seating, and provide menus, water, and drinks
Communicate specials, explain menu items and dietary considerations, and take accurate orders
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery
Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining proper presentation and timing
Monitor guest satisfaction, addressing requests, refilling drinks, and clearing plates
Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally, escalating to management as needed
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service, including assisting during busy periods
Process payments accurately and efficiently, presenting bills to guests
Perform opening and closing duties including side work and station setup
Participate in training sessions, department meetings, and pre-shift meetings
