Job Description
Westside Christian Academy (WCA) is a Classical and Christian school serving students from PreK through 12th grade in suburban Cleveland. The academy is dedicated to delivering quality instruction built on a strong foundation of a Biblical worldview. WCA's educational approach embraces classical methodology, encompassing subjects such as grammar, Latin, logic, rhetoric, and daily lessons rooted in God’s Word. This nurturing environment is designed not only to foster academic excellence but also to cultivate godly character and instill a genuine zeal for learning within its students. Established as a family-oriented community, WCA prides itself on the unity of its members, all of whom are followers of Christ committed to supporting the growth and development of their children in faith and scholarship. The school encourages engagement within a local Bible teaching church and upholds its unique Statement of Faith and lifestyle agreements to maintain a consistent spiritual atmosphere.
WCA is currently seeking a part-time Receptionist for the 2026-2027 school year, offering an opportunity to join a team dedicated to serving a close-knit academic community. This role is integral to ensuring the school environment remains warm, welcoming, and secure. The Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff, thereby playing a crucial role in shaping positive first impressions and maintaining professional communication throughout the school. Hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, with the potential to cover additional hours as needed. The position begins in late August 2026 and continues through late May 2027.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties centered around maintaining safety protocols and creating a positive atmosphere within this active educational environment. Tasks include managing visitor access, recording sign-in and sign-out procedures, assisting with telephone communications, and supporting office operations across various school departments as time permits. Attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn new technologies, particularly Google Suite, are important to this role. The Receptionist will also collaborate with the school community by promoting WCA’s guidelines and expectations and helping to sanitize communal areas, thereby contributing to the overall health and security of the facility.
WCA seeks someone who not only brings strong organizational and communication skills but also aligns personally and spiritually with the Academy's mission. Being a follower of Jesus Christ, engaging in local church activities, and serving as a positive role model for students are critical aspects of this position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, flexibility, professionalism, and a sense of humor, helping to foster a joyful and supportive working environment. This part-time Receptionist position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a vibrant educational community focused on both academic and spiritual growth.
