The Line Cook position at Holston Hills Country Club is a full-time opportunity offering competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.00 to $18.50 per hour. This role is instrumental in supporting the efficient operation of the club's kitchen, particularly focusing on the Sauté Station. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing menu items according to par sheets or directives from the Executive Chef, ensuring consistent quality, proper cooking and seasoning of each dish, and adherence to the club’s standards. This position requires attention to detail, culinary skill, and the ability to maintain order during busy service periods. Additionally, the role entails preparing items for special events and working collaboratively with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

This role is ideal for culinary professionals who have foundational experience in cooking and are looking to advance their skills in a reputable club setting. The Line Cook is tasked with preparing meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients for line service and events, all while following standardized recipes to guarantee consistency in flavor and presentation. Candidates for this position should have a sound understanding of food safety, sanitation protocols, and be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment that demands physical endurance and a team-oriented mindset.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • at least six months related experience or training
  • food safety certification
  • ability to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to perform continuous repetitive motions
  • ability to work in hot, humid and noisy environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • at least six months related experience or training
  • sound knowledge of menu and skills to determine taste, doneness, presentation, timing and product utilization
  • knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
  • food safety certification

Job Duties

  • prepares meats, seafood, vegetables and other items required for line and special function purposes as assigned
  • carefully follows club's standard recipes when pre-preparing and preparing all items
  • properly assembles all tools and utensils needed to accomplish job duties
  • prepares or assists in preparing employee meals
  • assists with preparation of other food products in other kitchen areas as directed by immediate supervisor
  • uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturers' instructions
  • returns unused food products to proper storage areas
