Job Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to remain alert and focused in a noisy and fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn how to use necessary tools and technology for efficient business operations
- Able to attend all scheduled employee meetings and training courses including safety meetings
- Completion of Food Handler's Card required within 30 days of employment
Job Qualifications
- 2 years of line cook experience preferred
- Ability to understand and meet restaurant health, safety, and excellence standards
- Ability to work effectively within a kitchen team
- Detail-oriented and thorough
- Completion of Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment
- Able to attend all scheduled meetings and training courses including safety meetings
Job Duties
- Assist the Sous Chef and/or butcher in cutting meat following specifications and quality standards
- Communicate with the Sous Chef about kitchen equipment, sanitation, cleanliness, safety, food supply, inventory, and prep levels
- Assist side cook and other kitchen personnel in food preparation as assigned
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to company specifications, recipes, procedures, and presentation standards
- Correctly time and prepare all food products to meet guest needs
- Maintain an organized, clean, efficient, and quiet broil station and kitchen line
- Check stock levels of meats, poultry, seafood, condiments, garnishes, equipment, plateware, and smallware to ensure adequate supply
- Cook and season eggs in various preparations
- Season, cook, and plate all dishes maintaining quality, presentation, and timing
- Maintain broiler temperature and clean it at closing
- Communicate with line and prep cooks to ensure food is ready at correct times
- Maintain highest sanitation and food safety standards
- Report any unsafe conditions or accidents immediately
- Return unused meat products to the walk-in freezer at shift end
- Support other back-of-house positions as needed
- Complete all station closing duties and assist Chef on Duty with kitchen cleanliness
