As a Leasing Consultant at Sterling Group, you will play a vital role in fostering strong relationships with prospective and current residents, acting as the frontline representative of the company’s multifamily housing properties. This part-time role, requiring approximately 25 hours per week with shifts from Monday to Friday along with every other Saturday, offers a dynamic and rewarding experience within a family-friendly culture that prioritizes work-life balance. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for greeting and touring potential residents throughout the community, thoroughly showcasing the distinctive features and benefits of each apartment within the portfolio. You will be expected to manage communications professionally by promptly answering phone calls and following up with prospective clients according to established policy guidelines. The position requires meticulous attention to detail in assisting tenants with lease agreements and applications, ensuring all documentation is properly completed, and maintaining accurate records within Yardi’s CRM system.
Leasing Consultants are also responsible for executing marketing initiatives, contributing to community events, and maintaining the property's aesthetic appeal to ensure a welcoming environment. By tracking occupancy and leasing activity, you will support the Property Manager in achieving the property’s sales goals while ensuring that residents experience exceptional service through timely resolution of concerns and facilitating move-in processes. Job Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug test, criminal history and background checks prior to employment
- High school diploma or G.E.D required
- Minimum of one year experience in property management, retail service or sales desired
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Yardi Program knowledge preferred
- Proficient reading, writing and grammar skills
- Ability to walk frequently throughout the apartment community
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly
- Ability to perform moderate repetitive typing
- Ability to frequently switch between sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D required
- Minimum of one year experience in property management, retail service or sales preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Yardi Program knowledge preferred
- Proficient reading, writing and grammar skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Job Duties
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current residents
- Greet and tour prospective residents through the apartment community, answering questions and highlighting key features and benefits
- Complete follow-ups promptly and in accordance with policy guidelines
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, providing information and assistance to prospective and current residents
- Ensure all inquiries and traffic are accurately entered into CRM
- Assist in the leasing process by preparing lease agreements, explaining terms, and ensuring all required documentation is completed
- Assist applicants throughout the application process, review and process rental applications in accordance with policy, submit all applications for final approval
- Manage leads and traffic daily within Yardi’s CRM system according to policy guidelines
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of available units, rental rates, amenities, and community policies
- Provide information about apartment availability, move-in dates, and application procedures
- Maintain acceptable visit-to-application-closing and appointment-to-show ratios
- Prepare electronic lease agreements and assemble resident move-in packets
- Review materials with new residents during move-in and accompany them to their apartment to ensure satisfaction
- Handle resident concerns and complaints professionally and promptly
- Assist with marketing efforts including social media posts, flyers, and community events
- Keep apartment community clean, welcoming, and presentable
- Help execute leasing strategies to achieve monthly and quarterly sales goals
- Ensure accurate data entry in property management systems
- Track and report leasing activity, occupancy rates, and other key performance indicators
- Prepare, submit, and process maintenance requests
- Conduct follow-up on service request surveys
- Provide move-in instructions, key distribution, and facilitate special resident requests
- Assist in the development and implementation of Sterling 5 P’s Business Plan to meet or exceed expectations.
