Carpenters Hall, located in the heart of South Austin, is a distinctive hotel renowned for its tranquil setting nestled within a historic pecan grove adjacent to Zilker Park. Since its opening in fall 2018, Carpenter Hotel has captivated visitors with its unique blend of natural beauty and modern comfort. Featuring 93 well-appointed rooms each with a private terrace, this boutique-style hotel provides guests with a peaceful retreat while remaining conveniently close to Austin's vibrant downtown and Lady Bird Lake. Hotel amenities include a picturesque pool area with a community deck and the Q Hut pavilion, perfect for relaxation and social gatherings. Guests enjoy a local culinary experience at Carpenters Hall restaurant, which offers both indoor dining rooms and a welcoming patio setting. The hotel also features an all-day Coffee Bar serving fresh fare to enhance guest comfort throughout the day.

Carpenters Hall prides itself on offering exceptional hospitality services and strives to create memorable experiences for every visitor. The establishment is committed to fostering a progressive work environment that reflects its culture, values, and reputation, ensuring staff members play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of service quality. Currently, the hotel is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Host to join its team. This role is essential in maintaining welcoming interactions between the establishment and its patrons, combining customer service skills with operational support duties.

The Part-Time Host position involves greeting guests promptly as they arrive, seating them in appropriate dining or lounge areas, and ensuring their needs are met with attentiveness and professionalism. The host will serve as the first point of contact, handling reservations, providing menus, and communicating special features of the restaurant to patrons. A key aspect of this role includes overseeing the cleanliness and readiness of the dining and serving areas while also liaising with kitchen and serving staff to optimize guest satisfaction. Conflict resolution and effective communication are crucial skills for this position, as hosts must address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues as necessary to supervisors.

Beyond general hosting duties, the role offers opportunities to contribute to team development through hiring and training new hosts. Additionally, the Part-Time Host may assist in orchestrating functions or special events, ensuring smooth execution and exceptional guest experiences. Carpenters Hall encourages a holistic approach to staff responsibilities, with the expectation that team members may be called upon to perform diverse tasks based on operational demands.

Work-life balance is highly valued at Carpenters Hall, with benefits designed to support employee well-being. These include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401K retirement plan with company match, and generous paid time off. Employees also enjoy perks such as free room nights, discounted rates for friends and family, and wellness initiatives including complimentary access to Headspace. Additional discounts with popular retailers like Apple, AT&T, and Verizon further enhance the overall compensation package.

Carpenters Hall invites enthusiastic individuals with a passion for hospitality to apply, embracing diverse backgrounds and unique experiences. The organization is committed to equal employment opportunities, fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace for all team members. This part-time hosting role represents an excellent opportunity for those seeking to develop their careers in the hospitality industry while contributing to a distinguished hotel brand in one of Austin's most sought-after neighborhoods.
