Petco is currently seeking a part-time Veterinarian to join its Vetco Total Care Full-Service Veterinary Hospitals located in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for compassionate veterinary professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and want to grow within a supportive and dynamic environment. In this position, the Veterinarian will perform a wide range of clinical duties including thorough physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, preventive care, and executing both routine and complex surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and extensive dental treatments. The Veterinarian will utilize a problem-based approach to patient care that ensures comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning tailored to each pet's unique needs and context. Clear, detailed documentation of all patient interactions and treatments in medical records is essential to maintaining high standards of care and communication.

This role requires active collaboration with a well-trained paraprofessional team and other hospital partners to foster an exceptional patient and client experience. Veterinarians at Vetco Total Care are also expected to participate in team rounds, disseminate medical knowledge among staff, and contribute to a positive and collegial work atmosphere. While the Veterinarian will receive guidance and supervision from the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director, autonomy and professional discretion in patient care decisions are integral parts of the role. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited institution, possess active licensure without contingencies in the state of practice, and have the capability to perform anesthesia and surgical procedures effectively.
