Job Description
Red Cedar Lodge Senior Living is a respected community dedicated to providing exceptional care and a welcoming environment for seniors. As part of Continental Senior Communities, which is guided by five core values—team, customer, community, innovation, and stewardship—the lodge strives to create a positive and supportive atmosphere for both residents and staff. Continental Senior Communities is known for emphasizing the importance of a compassionate workforce and sustainable practices, focusing on the well-being of its team members and residents alike. This particular location offers a dynamic, community-focused setting where employees can find personal fulfillment while making a significant, positive impact on the lives of senior residents. Red Cedar Lodge Senior Living is currently seeking a part-time cook who is dependable, motivated, and dedicated to contributing to the culinary experience in this senior living environment.
The role of the Part-Time Cook at Red Cedar Lodge Senior Living is a vital position within the culinary team, responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet established dietary guidelines and accommodate the needs of senior residents. This position is scheduled from 11am to 7pm, with part-time shifts that may vary, providing flexibility that supports a healthy work-life balance. The cook will operate in a fast-paced kitchen environment, working collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely meal service, excellent food presentation, and adherence to strict food safety and sanitation standards. The individual in this role will also assist with kitchen cleanup, dishwashing, and maintaining an organized and hygienic workspace.
In addition to cooking responsibilities, the Part-Time Cook will support inventory tracking and communicate supply needs to maintain efficient kitchen operations. This position calls for a compassionate attitude towards senior care, reflecting the larger commitment of Continental Senior Communities to empowering residents to live life as they wish within a supportive community. The role offers the chance to work alongside a team that values teamwork, communication, and innovation, fostering a positive and friendly workplace culture. Employees at Red Cedar Lodge Senior Living benefit from generous paid time off starting from day one, including two floating holidays, a flexible schedule that allows workers to manage their days in a way that suits them best, and complimentary restaurant-quality staff meals. The staff lounge is comfortable and equipped with modern amenities, making it a pleasant place to relax during breaks.
This position is suited for individuals with prior cooking or food service experience, although this is preferred but not required. Candidates should have a basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures, the ability to thrive in a busy kitchen setting, and be reliable, punctual, and compassionate. Working as a Part-Time Cook at Red Cedar Lodge Senior Living is an opportunity to develop culinary skills while contributing to the well-being of a senior community that truly values its employees and residents. The environment encourages professional growth and a sense of belonging, backed by an organization committed to innovation and stewardship. If you are someone who seeks a meaningful career with an employer who prioritizes quality care and employee satisfaction, this position invites you to join a team where your efforts are appreciated and your work makes a difference.
