The Cook position within the Culinary & Nutrition department at Banner North Colorado Medical Center is a vital role contributing behind the scenes to the hospital's mission of delivering excellent patient care. This part-time, night shift role (20 hours per week, two 10-hour shifts on Sunday and Monday from 10pm to 8am) involves preparing fresh and hot foods for both patients and staff, requiring experience in fast-paced culinary environments, preferably with prior grill cook experience. The Cook is responsible for producing all required food items based on production sheets, catering requests, and prep schedules, ensuring quality and timely service. Duties include preparing hot and cold food items following standardized recipes, managing food production quantities, maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen, checking and logging food and equipment temperatures, and supporting other kitchen staff as needed. This role is crucial to sustaining the high standards of nutrition services that contribute to overall patient satisfaction and recovery.
Banner North Colorado Medical Center offers competitive compensation, with pay ranging from $17.32 to $25.98 per hour, along with additional shift differentials, including a flat rate $1.50 hourly weekend shift differential and a $5.00 per hour weekend shift differential when applicable. This reflects Banner Health's commitment to pay equity and transparency. The hospital provides a supportive work environment that emphasizes safety, hygiene, and compliance with food handling regulations, including required certifications such as a food handler’s card where applicable. Working here means joining a team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and community impact within an inviting, close-knit community offering access to a variety of recreational activities. This position not only offers an opportunity to contribute to healthcare through culinary expertise but also to grow professionally in an organization dedicated to improving lives through health services.
