Job Description
Legend Senior Living is a well-established family-owned company with over 30 years of experience in providing exceptional living environments for seniors. Renowned for its commitment to quality and care, Legend Senior Living has rapidly expanded with multiple properties added annually. The company has received several prestigious awards, including Great Place To Work for seven consecutive years, Best of Senior Living Award, and recognition for Innovative Programming in Senior Living. Their mission is to create an elegant and vibrant community where residents enjoy the highest standards of service, environment, and care. Legend Senior Living focuses on holistic wellness, Gold Leaf Dining standards, and a wide range of life enrichment activities, always aiming to maximize the potential of every life they touch.
The part-time Cook position at Legend Senior Living plays a crucial role in enhancing the Gold Leaf Dining experience, which sets the bar for high-quality food and atmosphere within their communities. As a cook, you will be integral in creating nourishing meals from fresh ingredients, crafting dishes from scratch that contribute to the well-being and delight of the residents. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by addressing dietary needs and accommodating special meal requests. The position prides itself on a friendly, supportive work culture that values work-life balance, notably avoiding late-night shifts as residents prefer to eat early. This balance enables employees to thrive both professionally and personally.
As part of the culinary team, the cook will assist with meal preparation and service, maintain cleanliness and hygiene in production areas, and strictly adhere to food safety and infection control standards. Employees benefit from a variety of non-medical perks, including a discretionary scholarship program, annual performance reviews with raises, and opportunities for bonuses through employee referrals and recognition programs. Associates also enjoy comprehensive support like work-friend trainers, employee assistance programs, paid-time-off donations, continuing education resources, and family member discounts. Many team members experience career growth within the organization, as hundreds are promoted yearly, reflecting Legend9s dedication to promoting from within and rewarding loyal, hardworking associates.
This role is well suited for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and possess strong organizational skills, flexibility, and self-motivation. Legend Senior Living emphasizes a safe and drug-free workplace, conducting drug screenings as needed, and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends on occasion. Joining Legend Senior Living as a part-time cook means becoming part of a compassionate, award-winning team dedicated to making a positive impact on the senior community through exceptional culinary service and heartfelt care. If you are passionate about cooking, enjoy working with seniors, and want to work for an employer recognized for its extraordinary workplace culture, this opportunity offers an ideal fit.
