Job Description
We are a charming home-based artisan bakery located in Lauderhill/Sunrise, operating out of a garage that has been transformed into a cozy and efficient baking space. Our bakery specializes in crafting fresh sourdough bread using traditional methods, emphasizing quality, craftsmanship, and the authentic flavors of handmade bread. Serving a loyal and steadily growing customer base, we take immense pride in every loaf we produce. Our focus on tradition and quality dedication sets us apart from larger commercial bakeries, offering a unique product to our community with a personal touch. As a small-scale operation, we are deeply connected to our customers and passionate about expanding while maintaining our artisan roots.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Bakery Assistant to join our team. This position requires commitment on Thursdays and Fridays from 7 am to 3 pm, perfect for someone looking to contribute to a small business and learn the art of sourdough bread making hands-on. The role involves preparing, mixing, fermenting, and shaping dough on Thursdays, followed by baking the bread on Fridays. Whether you have baking experience or are eager to learn, this role comes with comprehensive hands-on training to ensure you become proficient in the entire sourdough process. We value dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with your hands in a collaborative, informal environment.
The goal of this position is to help you develop confidence and ownership of the weekly production process, enabling you to independently manage the bakery's bread-making duties over time. You will start by assisting with dough preparation and baking, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the workspace, and potentially contributing ideas for developing new baked goods. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food craftsmanship, keen to learn traditional baking methods, and comfortable working in a small, dynamic setting. Compensation ranges from $18 to $23 per hour, based on experience, reflecting our commitment to rewarding quality work and dedication. Flexible scheduling makes this part-time opportunity suitable for those seeking work-life balance while engaging in a fulfilling artisanal pursuit.
