Job Description
The Patient Access Representative role supports the delivery of patient care through essential administrative functions such as patient reception, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing for hospital and medical group campuses. This position is located at 195 Discovery Drive, Brookfield, WI 53045, and includes four weeks of paid training adjusted to the employee's schedule, ensuring new hires are well-prepared to succeed. Primary responsibilities encompass greeting visitors and patients—in person, by telephone, or video conferencing—ensuring excellent customer service at all points of contact. The role requires accurate entry and updating of patient demographic and financial information for early registration in the care process. Additionally, the Patient Access Representative collects patient liabilities, balances cash daily, coordinates admissions and bed assignments, and collaborates with multiple departments including Financial Counseling, Scheduling, and Financial Clearance for seamless patient encounters. This position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.00 to $29.00 based on full-time employment, with eligibility for a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of previous customer service experience in an office setting or professional work environment
- Beginner level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work the specified rotating schedule including Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
- Must be 18 years of age or older

Job Duties
- Greet visitors and patients in person or via telephone or video conferencing upholding excellent customer service
- Enter and update patient demographic and financial information ensuring early registration
- Obtain appropriate applications and forms confirming signatures are on file and scan documents as needed
- Provide patients with financial responsibility information and collect patient liabilities documenting amounts and balancing the cash box daily
- Collaborate with Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance and clinical departments to complete patient encounters
- Provide wayfinding instructions and assist with hospital information
- Coordinate patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards
- Meet or exceed audit accuracy standards working worklists and error reports timely and seeking assistance as needed
- Perform other duties as requested
