Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the culinary field or a culinary degree with 3 years related experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and handle difficult kitchen situations calmly
- Ability to create, read, and understand recipes
- Knowledge of proper knife use
- Positive, friendly, and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Excellent guest service skills and ability to perform service recovery
- Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for working in a kitchen
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and terminology
- Food safety certification or equivalent
- Ability to work with technology such as plate costing buffet systems, cafe systems, kitchen display systems, and Workbrain
- Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree or vocational school training preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience or 5 years in a food service environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and terminology
- Food safety certification or equivalent
- Ability to use kitchen technology systems
- Basic wine knowledge is a plus
- Passion for culinary arts and guest service excellence
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely and quality food production
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations and equipment
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards consistently
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Adapt to various kitchen technologies including plate costing and kitchen display systems
- Provide excellent guest service and handle service recovery when necessary
