The DMA strives to strengthen its position as a prominent, innovative institution that expands the meaning and possibilities of learning and creativity. The museum actively seeks to foster inclusivity, integrity, respect, innovation, collaboration, balance, and curiosity among its staff and visitors.
We are currently seeking energetic, customer service-oriented part-time Parking Attendants to join the Dallas Museum of Art team. This role reports directly to the Assistant Manager of Building and Parking within the Facilities, Operations, and Security department. The position requires weekend availability and offers a non-standard schedule, specifically from 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm, with a pay rate of $15 per hour. The Parking Attendant plays a vital part in enhancing the visitor experience by greeting patrons with warmth and professionalism, efficiently managing parking transactions, and assisting visitors with parking-related inquiries as well as general museum information. Key responsibilities include charging guests the appropriate lot rate, issuing receipts for credit or debit card payments, scanning QR code parking passes for pre-authorized guests, verifying authorized names against event parking lists, and managing the physical set-up of the parking area including traffic cones, signs, and barricades to control traffic flow safely and effectively.
In addition to customer service duties, the Parking Attendant performs cash register operations such as opening and closing procedures, performs basic machine troubleshooting including changing receipt paper and resetting devices, reports property and vehicle damage while collaborating with security staff, and strictly adheres to all established safety guidelines, building protocols, and parking policies. The role demands a high level of attentiveness, communication skills, and the ability to operate various systems and devices used in parking management. Employees must be able to work full shifts in a non-climate controlled outdoor environment.
