The role of Assistant Bartender at JW Marriott Anaheim Resort is integral to delivering seamless beverage service to guests and supporting the bartender team in maintaining efficient bar operations. This hourly position offers a pay rate of $21.13 and does not include tips or service charges. The Assistant Bartender plays a key part in guest satisfaction by preparing garnishes, handling beverage supplies, stocking and maintaining bar inventory, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health codes, and assisting with the physical aspects of bar management such as handling ice and heavy kegs. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, effective communication skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks within temperature-controlled environments are essential in this role. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous hospitality or bartending experience preferred
  • ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 150 lbs
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to perform manual tasks required by the position
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • must communicate well with guests
  • basic mathematical skills for delivery amounts and portion sizes
  • manual dexterity to use knives, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, tap kegs, and stock items
  • ability to read and understand product labeling for safety
  • ability to lift or carry up to 150 lbs with or without accommodation
  • ability to work in temperature ranges from normal to refrigerated
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences

Job Duties

  • Retrieve orders from storeroom and verify accuracy with storeroom personnel and bartender
  • cut, slice, and peel garnishes and fruits, mix and pour juices as needed
  • check and maintain supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and matches for bar and service areas
  • maintain cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration, and storage areas according to health code standards
  • scoop ice and replenish ice containers in service areas
  • box and save empty liquor bottles for returns and requisitions
  • transport, replace, and perform routine maintenance on heavy beer kegs
  • comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned
