Job Description

Zen Educate is a dynamic education staffing company that specializes in connecting passionate and skilled educators with schools that need their expertise. By partnering with both public and charter schools, Zen Educate simplifies the hiring process, making it transparent and efficient for educators and schools alike. Their platform is designed to match educators with teaching roles that align with their skills, preferences, and career aspirations, contributing to better educational outcomes. The company’s mission centers on empowering educators by offering smarter matching systems, fair compensation, and ongoing support, which ultimately benefits the students by ensuring high-quality teaching staff are placed in classrooms where they can make a significant impact.

The Special Education Paraprofessional position at Zen Educate is critical in supporting classroom teachers to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for students with special needs. As a paraprofessional, you will provide dedicated assistance by working directly with students either one-on-one or in small groups, helping them meet their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. Your responsibilities will include aiding students academically, supporting behavior strategies, and providing personal care when necessary. Supporting students during community outings by driving and assisting is also part of this role, ensuring their experience extends beyond the school environment.

This position is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, patient, and eager to contribute to the learning and development of children with special educational needs. By joining early, candidates not only secure their role for the 2026-2027 academic year but also benefit from completing onboarding processes ahead of the fall rush. The role offers a flexible Monday to Friday schedule between 7:30 am and 3:00 or 4:30 pm, with no weekend work, making it conducive for work-life balance. Salary ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, paid weekly, reflecting the company's commitment to fair pay. Employees also gain access to benefits such as paid sick leave and a 401K plan, subject to eligibility.

Zen Educate values openness to learning and adaptability, as these paraprofessionals must be ready to assist in various settings and with diverse student needs. Physical requirements for the role include the ability to be on your feet and move around the classroom throughout the day and lift up to 20 pounds safely. Additional preferred qualifications such as CPR certification, crisis prevention training, and previous special education experience are beneficial but not mandatory. This position emphasizes the importance of supportive educational roles, highlighting the paraprofessional's role in fostering an atmosphere where students feel valued, celebrated, and encouraged to thrive.
