Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in food preparation or culinary role
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures accurately
  • effective communication and teamwork skills
  • certification in food safety preferred
  • basic math skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Former exposure to culinary tasks or a related cooking role
  • firm grasp of the fundamentals of cooking techniques and principles of food preparation
  • awareness of sanitation practices and food safety regulations is necessary
  • obtain the essential certification for food safety, if not already secured
  • elementary math and numerical counting proficiencies
  • effective communication skills and a proficient aptitude for collaboration
  • a high school diploma or a comparable qualification is recommended but not obligatory

Job Duties

  • Follow standardized recipes and guidelines to cook and serve various meals
  • establish workstations by arranging essential ingredients and tools
  • get ingredients ready through chopping, trimming, measuring, mixing, and more
  • safely operate a range of kitchen tools and appliances, including knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers, to prevent accidents or injuries
  • make meals by using methods such as baking, broiling, roasting, and steaming to cook various dishes
  • follow established norms to layout, decorate, and serve food to meet presentation requirements
  • observe all the necessary food safety protocols and ensure proper food storage
