Job Duties
- operate various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, buffers
- maintain facility in clean and sanitary condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment and furnishings
- work in damp, dusty, and dirty areas
- dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
- empty trash containers
- handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals while complying with regulations such as OSHA, EPA, state health department
- plan work schedule for major tasks
- damp dust furniture, light fixtures, window sills
- wet mop floors in assigned areas including bathrooms daily
- damp mop corridor floors, lobby, dining areas daily
- clean restrooms, wash basins, mirrors, commodes, counter tops, urinals, tubs, and showers daily
- check all assigned areas daily to keep fresh
- clean air vents
- report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor
- wash windows as scheduled
- strip and recoat all floor areas when necessary and scheduled
- check areas for spills, water periodically especially in bathrooms
- use safety precautions in all housekeeping services
- maintain assigned equipment in good working condition
- perform other duties as assigned
