First Presbyterian Church is currently seeking a dependable and attentive Part-Time Weekend Overnight Security Guard. This role is essential in providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for church staff, members, guests, and facilities. This position is responsible for an armed security presence during the overnight weekend hours, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and assisting with overnight building oversight. Scheduled to work Saturday and Sunday nights from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, the individual will conduct routine checks of church property including buildings, parking lots, and sidewalks to ensure the safety and security of the campus.

The role is more than just security—it calls for a ministry-minded approach, balancing professional security duties with hospitality, respect, and kindness toward church community members and visitors. The candidate should demonstrate maturity, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively. Carrying and maintaining an authorized firearm and security equipment in accordance with church policies and applicable laws is a critical component of this job. The security guard will also assist visitors, staff, vendors, and emergency personnel as needed, contributing to a harmonious and safe church environment.

This position is part-time with an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $20.00, payable bi-weekly. The church expects employees in this role to maintain all certifications, permits, and licensing required to legally carry a firearm and perform armed security duties safely and lawfully. The Church emphasizes compliance with its policies and procedures alongside local, state, and federal laws. The role includes physical requirements such as walking the campus, climbing stairs, and standing for prolonged periods during the overnight shift. The security guard is also expected to maintain professional conduct, appropriate dress, and sound judgment while on duty, ensuring all church safety and firearm policies are upheld consistently.
