The role in focus is a Store Manager position based in Knoxville, TN, responsible for leading and developing store teams to achieve outstanding performance in customer service, financial results, and operational excellence. Job Requirements

  • 2 years’ college education or equivalent experience
  • 1 year retail experience and 1 year supervisory experience or 2 years general work experience and 1 year supervisory experience
  • Successful completion of firearms-specific Criminal Background Check if applicable
  • Completion of job-required training and assessments
  • Ability to work in compliance with company drug-free workplace policy
  • Willingness to uphold company values and standards
  • For certain roles certification of eligibility for ammunition sales as required by law

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years’ college education
  • 1 year retail experience and 1 year supervisory experience
  • 2 years general work experience and 1 year supervisory experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership preferred
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data
  • Proficiency in team development and performance management

Job Duties

  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching training and actively listening to associates
  • Tour stores and provide feedback
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates on store operations and business initiatives
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way service model
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives including community outreach
  • Drive financial performance by reviewing P&L statements and managing budgets
  • Oversee merchandise presentation and inventory flow
  • Hire train and mentor hourly associates
  • Assign duties set expectations and provide recognition
  • Promote a culture of belonging and inclusivity
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities and relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards
  • Promote Walmart values including respect integrity and continuous improvement
