The role of the Overnight Residential Counselor at Evolve is integral to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for adolescents within the 6-bed residential treatment centers. This position demands vigilant and compassionate supervision throughout the night shift (10 pm to 6 am) to ensure every client’s safety and well-being. The Overnight Residential Counselor remains awake and alert during their entire shift, performs routine checks on clients every 15 minutes, and ensures clients adhere to prescribed rest times. In addition to client supervision, the counselor assists with light housekeeping chores to maintain a clean living space and conducts inventory checks, reporting any concerns to the facility manager.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- previous overnight shift experience preferred
- must be at least 21 years old
- 6-9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse
- experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
- must be able to pass a LiveScan background check
- clear federal and state criminal background checks
- clear child abuse indexes
- possess a valid California driver's license
- must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- college coursework or bachelor's degree preferred
- must be able to stay awake all night
- previous overnight shift experience preferred
- must be at least 21 years old
- must have at least 6-9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse
- have 6-9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
- all schedules require at least 1 weekend shift
- must be able to pass a LiveScan background check and clear federal and state criminal background checks and child abuse indexes
- possess a valid California driver's license
- must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients as needed
Job Duties
- Be awake alert and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am)
- ensure clients are in bed all night and be able to provide line of sight of clients at all times
- check on the clients every 15 minutes
- walk through the facility and do a maintenance check
- assist with inventory check and notify the facility manager of anything that need attention
- document all shift activity in KIPU
- help maintain the cleanliness of the facility
- attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings
