Job Description

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a comprehensive community hospital located in Brooklyn, New York. It offers a wide range of healthcare services including specialized programs focused on HIV prevention and treatment. Known for its commitment to providing high-quality medical care to diverse populations, Wyckoff Heights strives to serve priority groups such as LGBTQ communities, immigrants, and individuals affected by substance abuse and mental health challenges. The hospital is dedicated to addressing public health issues through community outreach, education, and tailored health services, combining clinical excellence with community engagement to improve health outcomes in the region.

The role of Outreach Coordinator at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is essential for advancing the hospital’s mission in HIV prevention and treatment. This full-time position based on a Monday to Friday schedule from 9am to 5pm offers a salary of $55,000 annually. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for leading comprehensive outreach strategies including in-person and virtual community events, venue-based outreach at local businesses and community partners, and social media or app-based initiatives. This position requires developing and implementing data-driven, community-informed outreach plans that prioritize engagement with key populations at risk for HIV. The coordinator will oversee the creation and distribution of diverse outreach materials such as print collateral, social media content, and multimedia products to raise awareness about Wyckoff’s services, hours, and locations.

A critical aspect of the role involves continual evaluation of outreach outcomes to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. The Outreach Coordinator collaborates closely with Peer Educators and client advocates, facilitating regular feedback loops from community members to ensure outreach efforts remain relevant and impactful. Maintaining an organized calendar of outreach activities and fostering strong relationships with existing and prospective community partners play key roles in maximizing program reach and engagement. This position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail under tight deadlines.

In addition to outreach execution, the Outreach Coordinator will assist in promotional strategies to recruit volunteers and increase program participation through targeted marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with new media technologies are essential for effective communication and digital outreach. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends for community events, is required. This role suits a dynamic, resourceful, and creative individual who is passionate about public health outreach and eager to make a meaningful impact in HIV prevention and treatment through strategic community engagement.
