We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Chef to lead our culinary operations at Patterson Kitchen, our upscale casual dining restaurant specializing in contemporary cuisine served in an open kitchen. This pivotal role requires a hands-on chef passionate about food and leadership, capable of managing fast-paced kitchen operations while inspiring and guiding a talented team of culinary professionals. The Chef will collaborate closely with front-of-house leaders to ensure a seamless dining experience that reflects the resort's standards of excellence. This includes overseeing menu development, maintaining exceptional food quality, and managing inventory and sanitation practices.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise within a vibrant dining setting that currently operates dinner service nightly except Sundays, with plans to expand to weekend brunch offerings. Given the unique outdoor and indoor campus-style layout of the resort, the Chef must be adaptable to working in varied environments and be physically capable of navigating stairs frequently. Additionally, the Chef will have oversight over culinary functions in other resort outlets including CoPilot coffee shop and Captain bar, broadening the scope of responsibility.

Job Requirements
- Must have culinary training or certification
- Proven experience in fine dining and restaurant management
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in culinary settings
- Extensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage inventory and control costs
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to stand for entire shifts
- Ability to frequently climb stairs due to property layout
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in fine dining establishments with strong background in food production and restaurant management
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading culinary teams in high-volume settings
- Extensive knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards (HACCP certification preferred)
- Experience with banquet service, catering, and event planning is highly desirable
- Skilled in inventory management, cost control, and kitchen operations oversight
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to manage shifts effectively
- Culinary training or certification from a recognized culinary institute is preferred
- Familiarity with food industry trends, menu planning, and hospitality standards
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
- Overall team building and management
Job Duties
- Assist in developing and executing innovative menu plans that align with the restaurant's standards and guest expectations
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth shift management and efficient food production
- Lead and motivate a team of cooks and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation requirements
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations across all kitchen activities
- Coordinate with the catering and banquet teams to support large events and special functions with exceptional service
- Monitor dietary department needs to accommodate special dietary requests and maintain menu flexibility
- May need to assist with events and banquets
- Work with FOH leaders and Banquet Chef on purchasing goods
