The role of a Busser at The Liberty Hotel involves assisting the Outlet Manager and Restaurant Servers in maintaining a clean, inviting, and well-organized dining environment while delivering exceptional guest service. Bussers are crucial team members who ensure that dining areas are quickly cleared and reset, enabling seamless meal service and contributing significantly to the overall guest experience. The position requires attention to detail and a proactive attitude to maintain stock levels and cleanliness of service stations across all meal periods. Responsibilities include setting tables, serving initial beverages and bread to guests, transporting dirty tableware, and adhering strictly to attendance policies to support reliable operations. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • ability to move or push carts weighing up to 150 lbs
  • excellent communication skills
  • must comply with attendance policies and be punctual

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
  • ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 150 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc

Job Duties

  • quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting
  • promptly and consistently reset all service ware
  • maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen, and condiments
  • serve guests with beverages, bread, and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary
  • transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning
  • comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • perform any other job-related duties as assigned
