The role available at the Courtyard location in Phoenix, Arizona, involves working as a full-time, non-management team member within the Rooms and Guest Services Operations department. This position is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest experiences through the efficient management of front desk operations, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and overall guest service facilitation. The candidate will be responsible for processing guest arrivals by verifying reservation details and guest identity, managing room assignments, and issuing room keys. Additionally, the role requires handling guest requests and resolving issues by coordinating with other departments such as Bell Services and Housekeeping. Attention to detail is paramount, as the role involves maintaining accurate records by completing designated cashier reports, managing shift logs, and ensuring that all guest payments and charges are processed correctly. This includes verifying rates and market codes, and appropriately documenting any exceptions.
Beyond operational duties, the position also includes supporting management in employee training, evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary processes, serving as a role model for company policies, and fostering a positive work environment. Safety and compliance responsibilities include reporting accidents or unsafe conditions and completing mandatory safety training. Job Duties
- Complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer system
- review shift logs and document pertinent information in logbooks
- contact appropriate departments to resolve guest calls or problems
- process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, verifying identity, requesting payment, assigning rooms, and issuing keys
- sell rooms to walk-in guests based on availability
- ensure rates match market codes and document exceptions
- scan and charge outlet checks to guest rooms
- assist management in training, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees
- act as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
- complete safety training and certifications
- maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
- welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
- anticipate and address guests’ service needs
