Job Description

Residence Inn by Marriott is a renowned brand within Marriott International, dedicated to providing exceptional extended stay experiences to guests across the globe. Marriott International is a leading global hospitality company known for its diverse portfolio of brands and commitment to superior guest service. Located at 1725 Richard Petty Blvd, Daytona Beach, Florida, Residence Inn by Marriott offers spacious suites with full kitchens designed to create a home-like environment for both business and leisure travelers. The establishment prides itself on delivering personalized service that enhances guest comfort and satisfaction. Employment with Residence Inn by Marriott provides a professional yet welcoming environment where associates can thrive, supported by a culture deeply rooted in teamwork, inclusivity, and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The role available is a full-time, non-management position within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations category. It primarily involves guest-facing responsibilities that are pivotal to ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for visitors. The position is stationed at the Daytona Beach location, emphasizing direct interaction with guests to meet and exceed their expectations.

This role primarily focuses on cash handling, guest check-in processes, and overall guest services. Key tasks include completing cashier and closing reports, maintaining detailed shift logs and daily memo books, and communicating any relevant guest concerns or requests to designated departments such as Bellperson and Housekeeping. The incumbent will process guest check-ins by verifying reservations, confirming guest identities, requesting payment, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys, thereby playing a critical role in the guest reception process.

Additionally, the position requires selling rooms to walk-in guests when necessary, ensuring that room rates conform to market codes, and documenting any exceptions. The role also involves managing outlet charges (from areas like the Health Club or Retail Shop) and posting these to guest accounts. As a representative of Marriott International’s Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy, the employee will assist management with training, evaluating, counseling, and motivating team members, serving as a role model and first point of contact for policy adherence.

Safety and professionalism are integral to the role, necessitating the reporting of unsafe conditions, completing required safety trainings, and ensuring a clean, professional appearance. The role demands physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to handle items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. This position also requires strong interpersonal communication skills to engage guests warmly and professionally while maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues to uphold quality standards consistently.

Residence Inn by Marriott offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to develop their careers in a supportive, dynamic environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working directly with guests, have a keen eye for detail, and are motivated to contribute to an outstanding hospitality experience. By joining the team, employees become part of a globally recognized brand committed to employee growth and guest satisfaction, embodying the ethos of being where you can do your best work, beginning your purpose, belonging to an amazing global team, and becoming your best self.
