Job Description
Upper Crust Food Service is a reputable company specializing in providing exceptional food service solutions specifically tailored for Sororities and Fraternities across the country. Founded with a clear mission to address the challenges faced by fraternity and sorority houses—particularly the lack of consistency and professionalism in their kitchens—Upper Crust has built a strong reputation distinguished by freshness, quality, variety, and outstanding customer service. Serving tens of thousands of meals weekly, the company prides itself on maintaining high standards and delivering great food combined with personalized service. This dedication has positioned Upper Crust Food Service as a reliable partner for student dining across multiple regions.
The role of Operations Coordinator at Upper Crust Food Service is a crucial, dynamic, field-based position that acts as the operational backbone of an extended subregion. Working closely alongside the Area Manager, the Operations Coordinator manages the logistics, scheduling, and day-to-day coordination that ensure smooth functioning of the fraternity and sorority houses. This role demands proactive problem-solving on site, building trust with chefs and staff, and absorbing operational insight from every angle. The Operations Coordinator is the first responder for issues such as staffing gaps, vendor coordination, and logistical challenges, thereby allowing the Area Manager to concentrate on partner relations, chef development, and standards oversight.
This position is not only about execution but also about learning and growing within the organization. The Operations Coordinator gains a comprehensive understanding of operational processes including staffing, vendor management, supply logistics, and issue escalation. Regular site visits provide valuable opportunities to build credibility and rapport with kitchen staff and partners while upholding the rigorous safety and service standards that define Upper Crust. The role plays a pivotal part in onboarding new houses, managing equipment setups, and ensuring consistent operational coverage.
What makes this opportunity compelling is its clear career pathway—successful Operations Coordinators are strongly positioned for promotion to Area Manager roles, leading their own subregions in the future. The company values candidates with experience in food service, hospitality, or multi-site operations, who thrive in organized, high-pressure environments, and who demonstrate excellent communication skills with both internal staff and external partners. Flexibility and willingness to travel to various sites are essential to adapt to the dynamic nature of the role.
Upper Crust embraces an inclusive workplace culture, offering equal employment opportunities and maintaining a harassment-free environment. The company’s commitment extends to all areas of the employment experience including recruitment, hiring, advancement, compensation, and training. Overall, the Operations Coordinator position at Upper Crust Food Service is well-suited for driven individuals seeking a foundational leadership role in food service operations with a reputable and growing company.
