The organization prides itself on fostering a collaborative, innovative, and learning-focused work environment where every team member’s contributions genuinely impact the company’s success and customer satisfaction. Grit One is dedicated not only to excellence in product and service delivery but also to building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with its customers, vendors, and employees, making it an exceptional place to advance one’s career in operations and logistics within the maritime and industrial sectors.
The position of Operations and Logistics Coordinator at Grit One is an exciting and dynamic role suited for individuals experienced or interested in scale operations, shipping and receiving, or logistics coordination. This full-time role provides hands-on training in SAP Business One, along with exposure to accounts receivable and payable functions, making it an excellent opportunity for career growth in industrial logistics and operations management. The Operations and Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial part in overseeing daily site-level activities, ensuring smooth and compliant operation of facility scales, and managing traffic flow for trucks, vessels, vendors, and visitors. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, as the coordinator is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, processing Bills of Lading and Bill of Material production schedules, and serving as the critical communication link within the facility.
Additionally, the coordinator enhances customer and visitor experiences by acting as the professional and knowledgeable face of Midwest Salt at the terminal, identifying service improvement opportunities, and guaranteeing high standards of service and safety. Inventory control is a key responsibility, which includes coordinating product loading and shipping on a FIFO basis to protect product integrity, performing cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining audit-ready records using SAP. The position also supports accounts receivable and payable workflows by assisting with invoice verification, payment documentation, and vendor invoice processing in collaboration with the accounting team. Safety and continuous improvement are integral to the role, requiring adherence to company safety policies and OSHA procedures and contributing ideas to optimize processes and operational efficiency.
Working at Grit One places you in a fast-paced, industrial port environment where your skills in data entry, communication, and enterprise system use are valued and developed. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum and have a valid driver’s license, with prior experience in similar operational roles preferred. The company values initiative and provides ongoing support and training to help you advance your logistics and operational management skills.
