Job Description

Factor is currently seeking an Operations Manager, Production to lead and manage the daily activities at their high-volume prep, cook, and plating production kitchen and fulfillment center. This full-time, leadership position offers a competitive hourly rate, 401K company match, generous paid time off, and comprehensive health benefits effective from day one.

The Operations Manager will play a critical role in driving the culture and operational success of the production center, overseeing over 100 employees across multiple functional areas, including kitchen operations, prepping, plating, food safety, quality, and fulfillment. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Operations, this role is responsible for building a strong leadership pipeline, mentoring and developing talent, managing production scheduling, ensuring product quality, and partnering cross-functionally to align priorities with broader company goals.

This role demands a dynamic, strategic, and customer-focused leader with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Operations Manager will be instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture, driving safety and quality initiatives, and executing key performance indicators to meet financial and operational goals. Additionally, the role requires a hands-on approach, with a strong presence on the shop floor to engage with staff, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead change effectively.

Successful candidates will bring a combination of experience in industrial kitchen or food production operations, familiarity with food safety standards such as FSMA, HACCP, and SQF, and certifications in APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred. Fluency in Spanish is an advantage but not mandatory. The role also emphasizes adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments where innovation and agility are essential.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • five plus years of management experience in industrial kitchen or production operations center
  • familiarity with food safety standards FSMA, HACCP, SQF
  • ability to lead and motivate large teams

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • five plus years of management experience leading an industrial kitchen or production operations center preferably in food service or food production
  • ability to think strategically and communicate at the executive level
  • top-notch organizational skills and attention to detail
  • familiarity with FSMA, HACCP, SQF
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
  • Spanish proficiency preferred
  • demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, develop and manage 100 plus employees
  • deep knowledge of lean and agile production methodologies
  • comprehensive background in prepping, cooking, plating, food safety, quality and fulfillment
  • experience delivering new product initiatives in both large and start-up environments

Job Duties

  • Build and establish a strong team with a leadership pipeline
  • coach and develop talent within each functional area of fulfillment including kitchen, prepping, plating, food safety, quality and fulfillment
  • develop trust, credibility, effective and collaborative relationships with Factor peers and direct reports
  • work with managers to execute final production scheduling
  • ensure product quality of the department
  • serve as liaison between site operation, kitchen, R&D and other headquarters functions
  • be responsible for production area continuous improvement initiatives and direction
  • develop high standards for execution to meet all KPIs and financial metrics
  • ensure adequate communication of company goals and priorities to production center team including leading monthly engagement meetings
  • drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • create a positive team dynamic encouraging feedback, positive change, adaptability, accountability, and alignment with Factor brand and culture
