The Homewood Suites Corpus Christi, located at 5201 Crosstown Expressway/SH 286 in Corpus Christi, TX, is seeking an Operations Manager. This role is critical in enhancing hotel productivity and operational efficiency. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Front Office to manage and support front office operations while also collaborating across departments such as Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering. The position requires a strong presence in the lobby to assist front desk agents and ensure all service areas meet Paramount standards, including cleanliness, guest access control, and signage.

In addition to front office responsibilities, the Operations Manager will oversee shift coverage in Food & Beverage operations, balance room inventory, monitor upselling programs, handle customer complaints, and perform night audit functions. They will also manage employee payroll, attendance, and overtime communications, while coaching and training hourly associates with disciplinary actions as necessary. The role involves preparing and distributing various reports, responding to special guest requests, and actively participating in staff meetings and training sessions to boost morale, productivity, and efficiency. The ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and handle emergencies or disturbances during shifts is essential. This position may require long working hours and demands a hands-on approach to maintaining high standards and operational excellence at the hotel.

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field

Job Duties

  • Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Front Office with managing the Front Office operation
  • provide support to other departments in the hotel such as Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering
  • provide strong lobby presence to assist front desk agents and guests
  • provide all aspects of shift coverage in Food & Beverage operations as needed
  • balance the hotel room type inventory
  • ensure all lobby, Mezzanine level, and Food & Beverage areas meet Paramount standards including cleanliness and signage
  • monitor and action Nor 1 upsell program
  • handle guest special requests and customer complaints during shift
  • perform all front desk duties and responsibilities
  • investigate and handle complaints, disturbances, and emergencies during shift
  • manage employee payroll, track attendance via ADP, conduct call-arounds for overtime as needed
  • coach, train, and counsel hourly associates and administer discipline
  • perform night audit functions and produce related reports
  • prepare, copy, and distribute reports as required
  • attend and contribute to periodic meetings and required trainings
  • participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required
