Job Description
Amazon is a global leader in e-commerce and technology, renowned for its customer-centric approach and innovative logistics solutions. The company operates one of the world's most extensive and sophisticated worldwide operations networks, which delivers millions of packages to customers daily. Through its commitment to technological advancement and customer satisfaction, Amazon continues to redefine retail and supply chain management. The company employs cutting-edge technologies and data-driven strategies to optimize the entire order fulfillment process, from the moment a product is housed in a facility to its final delivery at the customer's doorstep. Amazon offers diverse career opportunities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join its teams worldwide.
This position for an Operations Manager is a critical role within Amazon's Worldwide Operations, tasked with ensuring that customer orders are delivered accurately and on time. The Operations Manager will lead and develop a diverse team of salaried and hourly employees, fostering a culture of safety, quality, attendance, and performance excellence. This role requires a leader who can engage their team throughout their shifts, equipping them with the necessary tools to succeed while focusing on continuous improvement through data analysis and problem-solving.
The operational workflow that the manager oversees includes three major components: first mile (where products are housed and ready for order), middle mile (transportation of orders to the local area), and last mile (final delivery to customer doorsteps). Despite some variation across different facilities, the consistent focus remains on meeting the customer’s expectations. The R2L (Receive to Last) team within Amazon is dedicated to enhancing the speed and efficiency with which items reach customers, combining operational expertise with innovative support functions.
This role offers an engaging work environment that demands flexibility, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 49 pounds, and other dynamic movements necessary to maintain operational standards. As an equal opportunity employer, Amazon supports an inclusive culture and provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process.
The salary range for this position in Visalia, CA, is $91,000 to $136,500 annually, complemented by additional benefits such as sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave, making this an attractive opportunity for experienced operations leaders aiming to advance their careers in a rapidly evolving industry.
