The BCI Operations Manager role is a pivotal leadership position tasked with overseeing all operational facets of Jellystone Park & Resort and Bear Paw Adventure Park. This role demands a hands-on approach to managing daily activities and staff to elevate guest experiences and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include managing multiple departments such as guest services, housekeeping, and groundskeeping while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards related to pools, ropes courses, and overall safety. The Operations Manager acts as the Manager on Duty, handling everything from staff scheduling and payroll preparation to responding promptly to guest inquiries and concerns. They must adapt operations to meet changing conditions such as weather and inventory, ensuring visitor satisfaction and smooth coordination across all park functions. The role requires certifications in lifeguarding and ground school for the Ropes Course, offered by BCI, to guarantee safety and compliance.
As the key liaison between Bear Paw Adventure Park and Jellystone Park, the Operations Manager ensures seamless operations across all areas, coordinating efforts to maintain cleanliness, functionality, and guest engagement. The position carries significant supervisory responsibilities including employee scheduling, payroll administration, training, performance appraisals, and conflict resolution—all performed within the company's compliance framework. Physically, the role is active, requiring regular movements such as standing, walking, swimming, and lifting, as well as the ability to observe and interpret operational data accurately. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in resort or park operations management preferred
- lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain
- ropes course ground school certification or willingness to obtain
- ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- strong organizational skills
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Oversee Bear Paw Adventure Park operations and Jellystone Park and resort operations
- manager on duty responsibilities including money bag handling, staff call-offs, radio communication, guest concern resolution, and opening and closing duties
- schedule team members using Hotel Effectiveness scheduling software and ensure staff awareness of schedules
- assist in payroll preparation using Paychex programs
- manage departments including guest services, groundskeeping, and housekeeping
- adjust activities and labor based on staffing, weather, and inventory
- serve as liaison between Bear Paw Adventure Park and Jellystone Park to ensure functional coordination
- respond to guest inquiries and concerns ensuring proper handling
- ensure compliance with government regulations for pools and aquatics
- coordinate and oversee cleanliness of Jellystone Park and Bear Paw Adventure Park
