With a legacy spanning several decades, Baker Construction has grown into a formidable force in the construction industry, consistently delivering projects that shape skylines and infrastructure across the country. The company invests significantly in employee development, fostering a collaborative environment where professionals can thrive both personally and professionally. Baker’s approach combines rigorous training, advanced construction technologies, and a culture that prioritizes safety and quality, ensuring every project meets the highest standards of performance and durability.

Joining Baker Construction means becoming part of a team that values ambition, rewards initiative, and encourages individuals to chart their career paths on their own terms. The leadership at Baker is deeply committed to nurturing talent, fostering leadership, and providing unparalleled opportunities for growth. From the newest hire to seasoned veterans, employees are empowered to contribute meaningfully to the company's success while enhancing their skills and expertise.

The role of Operations Manager at Baker Water is a pivotal leadership position within Baker Construction’s water infrastructure division. This division specializes in building and maintaining critical water and wastewater treatment facilities, which are essential to public health and environmental protection. As an Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing both field and office operations across the Northern Florida market. Your work will impact not only the successful completion of projects but also the safety, quality, and efficiency standards upheld by the company.

This position demands a strategic leader who can balance daily project demands while also driving long-term initiatives that align with Baker’s corporate goals. The Operations Manager acts as a bridge between project teams, clients, and company leadership, ensuring all stakeholders remain coordinated and informed. Responsibilities include enforcing company policies, managing performance across teams, leading the implementation of safety programs, and mentoring staff to achieve operational excellence.

Baker Water’s mission is to serve as the general contractor for complex water infrastructure projects nationwide. The division prides itself on delivering comprehensive services spanning the entire project lifecycle—from initial planning and design through construction and final commissioning. The Operations Manager will help guide these efforts, maintaining tight control over project schedules, budgets, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and other leadership roles to troubleshoot challenges and optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in water and wastewater infrastructure construction, supported by a strong foundation in engineering or construction management. Experience is valued over formal education, with 15 or more years of progressively responsible roles preferred. Beyond technical expertise, you’ll need exemplary communication and leadership skills, ethical integrity, and a passion for continuous professional growth.

Baker Construction offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being and career advancement. The culture is one of mutual respect and shared purpose, where employees are motivated by the company’s core values: People, Honor, and Grit. If you are driven to lead large-scale, impactful projects and thrive in a dynamic environment, Baker Water provides a unique opportunity to advance your career and make a tangible difference in your community and beyond.

This role requires up to 25 percent travel and includes the chance to work on a diverse range of projects within the water infrastructure realm. Baker Construction welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and is committed to diversity and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations to candidates with disabilities. You will join a company that is not only an industry leader but also a trusted employer committed to building better structures and better lives.
