The role of Operations Manager at EVEN Hotel Brooklyn is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and maintaining guest service standards in line with both client expectations and HEI standards of product and service excellence. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in hotel operations
  • Proficiency with PMS systems and basic computer skills
  • Ability to manage cash and credit transactions accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to handle conflict with patience and diplomacy

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of hotel experience, preferably in a comparable hotel
  • Proficient with property management systems (PMS) and computer literacy
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Thorough knowledge of all hotel operations and individual job requirements
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers using patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • General knowledge of local area attractions and transportation
  • Ability to stand and walk for four or more hours at a time with or without accommodation
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective work relationships
  • Ability to detect signs of emergency situations
  • Adapt communication style for different audiences

Job Duties

  • Ensure each department is working efficiently while ensuring brand standards are being met
  • Oversee staff by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff work and giving guidance to correct deficiencies and meet standards
  • Assist department managers to interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline
  • Assist department managers to arrange staff work schedules and submit payroll records, correcting errors for timely pay
  • Assist department managers to implement company and franchise programs
  • Track guest satisfaction surveys and maximize usage of guest response tracking systems
  • Interact positively with customers and resolve problems to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and quality
