The Starbucks Reserve® Operations Lead for Back of House (BOH) plays an essential role in maintaining operational excellence within the Reserve Cafe. The Reserve Cafe’s food and culinary zone is inspired by Italian bakery traditions and produces high-quality artisanal pastries and food offerings. In this fast-paced environment, the Operations Lead supports the execution of store operations during shifts by assisting store managers and team leaders, ensuring that the Starbucks Reserve® service standards are met consistently. This role requires a high level of integrity, leadership, and operational acumen to promote Starbucks’ culture and values. The Operations Lead manages daily activities including food preparation, partner training, customer service, and adherence to health and safety standards. They also ensure compliance with cash handling and alcohol service policies, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all customers.

As an ambassador of the Starbucks Reserve® brand, the Operations Lead is responsible for inspiring their team and enhancing the customer experience by delivering legendary service and fostering a positive work environment. This means being calm and composed during busy periods, anticipating customer and store needs, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The role encourages communication, storytelling, and collaboration among partners, contributing meaningfully to a team-oriented atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • Customer service experience in retail and/or restaurant environment
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Ability to carry 35lb on a consistent basis

Job Duties

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customer for cues
  • Communicate information to the manager so that the appropriate response can be made to create the Starbucks Reserve® experience during each shift
  • Assist with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
