Job Description

NASCAR is a globally recognized leader in motorsports entertainment, known for its thrilling races and vibrant community of passionate fans and professionals. At NASCAR, you will find a community of dedicated individuals who share a common goal of growing the sport and delivering extraordinary experiences for both fans and participants. Founded over several decades ago, NASCAR has established itself as a premier institution in the racing world, renowned not only for competitive events but for its commitment to innovation, safety, and community engagement.

One of the most exciting upcoming initiatives is the NASCAR San Diego Street Race, planned for June 19-21, 2026, at Naval Base Coronado. This groundbreaking event will transform the military installation into a world-class motorsports venue, featuring a challenging 16-turn, 3.4-mile street circuit. Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy, this event uniquely blends NASCAR's high-speed competitive spirit with San Diego's vibrant coastal culture and rich military heritage. It marks a new chapter in street racing innovation and showcases NASCAR's commitment to expanding its influence in diverse and dynamic environments.

The role of Operations Event Staff for this event represents a unique opportunity to be part of a historic and highly visible racing weekend. This seasonal position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple vendors and contractors, and the capacity to adhere to strict protocols, including those required by the Navy. Scheduled from June 1 through June 30, 2026, the position demands on-site presence at Naval Base Coronado to oversee critical aspects of the event's build-out, operation, and teardown. Candidates will be essential contributors to ensuring the event progresses safely, efficiently, and according to a strict timetable.

This role offers invaluable experience in event operations, logistics, and site management, particularly within a complex environment that involves coordination with military and governmental entities. Working as part of the Operations team, staff members will play a key role in vendor management, site access compliance, and the overall smooth execution of the event. The role requires excellent communication skills for effective coordination among diverse stakeholders, from NASCAR officials to military partners and city agencies. Given the high-pressure nature of live event operations, candidates must demonstrate calm problem-solving abilities and a solutions-oriented mindset.

The compensation range for this position is between 16.90 and 25.00 dollars per hour, reflecting NASCAR's competitive wage standards and the specialized nature of the event. NASCAR also offers a comprehensive benefits package focused on wellness, competitive salaries, and opportunities for employees to grow both personally and professionally. This role is an excellent fit for candidates looking to leverage their event operations experience in a unique and prestigious setting while contributing to a landmark motorsports event that honors both racing tradition and military heritage. Overall, joining NASCAR as Operations Event Staff provides a rewarding career opportunity within an organization that values diversity, innovation, and employee empowerment.
