Job Description

Boston Brine and Smoke, an affiliated company of William & Co. Foods, is a reputable player in the food production industry specializing in premium corned beef and smoked meat products. Based in the Boston area, this wholesale smokehouse operation caters to a broad customer base throughout the region. Known for its commitment to quality and tradition, Boston Brine and Smoke combines time-honored meat smoking techniques with modern food safety and production practices. As part of the larger William & Co. Foods enterprise, the company benefits from a strong parent brand recognized for excellence in food manufacturing and distribution. The business emphasizes product excellence, innovation in meat preparation, and exceptional customer service, making it a distinguished name in the wholesale meat market.

We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Operational Manager to lead and oversee our busy smokehouse production facility. This key leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence and growth. The hired Operational Manager will be instrumental in maintaining our rigorous quality standards, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring that the entire operation runs smoothly and adheres to safety and regulatory requirements.

This position offers a competitive annual salary of $100,000 along with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities. Additionally, there is potential for profit-sharing, rewarding committed candidates who contribute meaningfully to the company’s ongoing success.

The Operational Manager's responsibilities include ensuring that all corned beef and smoked meat products meet the highest quality benchmarks from preparation through packaging. They will monitor production processes to guarantee consistency and food safety, while managing inventory and supplier relationships to maintain efficient purchasing and cost control. Coordinating production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines will also be a critical function.

Food safety compliance is paramount in this role; the manager will maintain strict adherence to sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures. Although prior HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) knowledge is preferred, training will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance with all food safety regulations.

The role demands strong organizational and leadership skills, requiring an individual who can adapt quickly, manage multiple priorities efficiently, and foster a collaborative work environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for interfacing with staff, suppliers, and customers, guaranteeing exceptional service and product satisfaction.

Candidates with knowledge of meat preparation and smoking techniques will find this position rewarding, especially those with familiarity with wholesale food production and the Boston area food industry. This is a growth-oriented role within a company poised for continued expansion, making it an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career.
