Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland is a leading outpatient surgical center dedicated to providing excellence in multi-specialty surgical care. The Operating Room Supervisor role at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland is a pivotal leadership position within the surgical team. This role is aimed at registered nurses who bring extensive operating room experience and leadership skills to oversee daily surgical operations. The supervisor ensures a smooth flow of surgical cases by coordinating with physicians, nursing staff, and materials management. Responsibilities include scheduling, staff supervision, conducting monthly staff meetings, coordinating inventory, and facilitating educational opportunities within the OR. This role also plays a key part in the hiring and orientation of new OR staff members alongside the Clinical Director, contributing significantly to the department's overall performance and patient care quality.
This full-time supervisory position demands a high degree of communication ability, clinical proficiency, and organizational skills. The center values experienced candidates who hold a current registered nurse license with BLS and ACLS certifications, along with at least three years of OR experience. While a baccalaureate degree is preferred, relevant work experience is strongly considered. Job Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing
- Current RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Three years of operating room experience
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors
- Knowledge of surgery center policies and procedures specific to the operating room

Job Duties
- Supervise the OR staff to provide a daily smooth flow of cases
- Assist in coordination of daily case scheduling in the OR with other staff to ensure schedule will flow smoothly
- Prepare, coordinate and perform monthly OR staff meetings for all OR techs
- Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow
- Work with Materials Manager to order instruments and equipment for cases
- Coordinate inventory semi-annually in all areas of the OR
- Assist with OR education by coordinating and/or giving in-services
- Work closely with Clinical Director in hiring and orienting OR staff members
