The role of a Cook at Viticus Group is integral to supporting the organization’s food service operations, directly contributing to the quality and safety of meals prepared for team members and event attendees. Reporting directly to the Corporate Chef, the Cook is responsible for assisting in meal preparation, ensuring adherence to kitchen safety protocols, and supporting efficient food preparation processes. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment to consistently deliver high-quality food. The Cook works closely with kitchen staff to maintain food quality standards and uphold health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Current NV Food Handlers Card
  • At least 2 years of cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation and health and safety standards
  • Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to read and understand cooking instructions and safety protocols
  • Availability to work 12 months per year
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation standards
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen tasks including standing, lifting, and reaching.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Current NV Food Handlers Card required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a cook
  • Knowledge of food preparation and health and safety standards
  • Solid understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and related processes
  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate information clearly
  • Demonstrates passion, compassion, and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong collaborative skills to maintain positive internal and external relationships

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of meals and meal prep activities under the direction of the Lead Cook or Food & Beverage Manager
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items following established recipes and portion sizes
  • Support plating and presentation of food items according to standards
  • Assist in maintaining food inventories and communicate low stock items to supervisors
  • Rotate food stock and stock items using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming food and supply orders
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes according to health and safety standards
  • Follow proper food storage procedures to maintain appropriate food temperatures and prevent contamination
  • Assist with end-of-day cleaning tasks including equipment shutdown and kitchen breakdown
  • Assist in setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Support special catering events or banquets as assigned
  • Comply with all health and food safety regulations, organizational standards, and operational procedures
  • Report equipment malfunctions, food quality concerns, or safety hazards promptly to supervisor.
